Home Inventory Spreadsheet for Insurance & Claim Log
Instant digital download. Files are delivered electronically after purchase; nothing is shipped.
List what you own room by room, track your proof, and keep a clean claim log if you ever need it.
Who it's for: Homeowners and renters who want a calm, complete list of their belongings with photos and receipts, ready before anything happens.
The problem it solves: Rebuilding a list from memory after a loss is hard. This home inventory spreadsheet lists items room by room with replacement cost, marks each as RECEIPT + PHOTO, PHOTO ONLY, RECEIPT ONLY or NEEDS PROOF, compares your list total and category totals with the limits you copy from your policy, and gives you a claim log with follow-up dates. It's a record; it doesn't predict coverage or claim outcomes.

How it works
- On Settings, copy your personal property limit and deductible from your policy.
- Walk and film one room at a time; list items on Inventory with replacement cost.
- Mark receipt and photo for each item; filter NEEDS PROOF and fill the gaps.
- Enter any category caps from your policy on Special Limits.
- If you ever claim, log every contact on the Claim Log and list items on Claim Items.
Good to know
- Every item, value and company in the EXAMPLE file is made up.
- This is a record-keeping kit. It isn't insurance or legal advice and can't tell you what your policy covers or what a claim will pay; your policy and insurer decide. Ask your agent about coverage.
- Don't store full account numbers or passwords in the workbook. Keep a copy of the file and photos outside your home.
- Excel .xlsx workbook, no macros; formulas tested in LibreOffice (Google Sheets and Excel open-tests pending)
- ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot are trademarks of their owners. This kit isn't affiliated with them.
